Basic F A Q s to get you started

The forum uses publicly-available bulletin-board software from PHP to manage topics and messages related to this site and to CP in general. It is a way of sharing thoughts, views and experiences with other like-minded people. Users can post new topics and/or reply to messages on current topics. You may find it a useful way to meet new people.

Who can participate?

Anyone can post a topic or a reply provided that they first register as a user of the forum. It is FREE to register and you do not need to be a Member of British Discipline to use the forum.

Is it moderated?

No. But the forum manager will check messages periodically, and if we find users are not following the rules then their messages will be deleted and the offenders will be banned. If it gets out of hand, we will close the forum down or make it only available to subscribing Members.

What are "the rules"?

Rule number 1: Be respectful. Please do not be offensive about other users or their messages.
All the other rules follow on from this:
Respect people's right to free speech and to hold opinions which you may not share.
Do not post anything illegal or which incites illegal action; particularly underage activities.
Keep your posts on-topic. This forum is about male corporal punishment; it can include experiences as adults and schooldays nostalgia.
Please do not advertise corporate sites or products on the forum. British-Discipline pays for the disk usage and bandwidth needed to run the forum and we are not happy about paying to advertise someone else's products or service.

Can I use the forum for private e-mail?

Yes. If you want to chat privately to another user, go to the Memberlist, click on the Username and then click on Private message. You will be told next time you log in if you have a message waiting for you in your inbox.

Can I attach a pic to my posting?

Yes, there are two ways. Either you can include a link (URL) to the picture from a website (in the form of http://<domain><filename>) directly into your post. Click on the [IMG] button on the posting form, type in the URL and click the [IMG] button again.

Or we can host the picture for you on British Discipline and you can then link to it in your posting. To use this facility, please keep your pictures of a reasonable size (200 pixels max). Contact the webmaster for more information if you want to do this.

How do I get started?

Click on the link at the top of the page. The forum will open in a new window. For new users, click on the Register button to set up a username and password. Next time you visit the forum, you will need to log-in using your username and password.

How do I use the new "Looking to meet" forum?

Click on the link at the top of this page and the forum will open in a new window. To post a new message, click on the new topic button. Make sure you provide your email address if you want guys to respond to you!!

Can I reply to a contact message on the forum?

Yes. Click on the post reply link and enter your reply. It will appear on the forum for all to see. If you want to send a private message, see the FAQ "Can I use the forum for private email"

How do I find the email address of a guy who's posted a contact message?

If he hasn't put his email address in his message, click on the Member list link at the top of the forum and check if he's there. If not, well, there's not much we can do about it!!

How do I get back to the main forum from the Looking to meet forum?

At the foot of the forum page, on the right hand side, there is a jump to: drop-down box. Click on the little downward arrow, select General Forum and click Go.

Detailed FAQs

The forum software is provided by an independent company called PHP. They provide heaps of information. When you enter the forum, there is an FAQ button which will answer all your wildest questions - and some you didn't even think of.
